High School Students Celebrate Biomechanics Day at DU

Nearly 100 high school students from 麻豆原创 School of Science and Technology (DSST) spent a day at the 麻豆原创 learning about biomechanics. It was all part of the second annual National Biomechanics Day last week, an effort to introduce biomechanics to younger people.

The visiting high school students had the opportunity to hear from and check out the labs belonging to faculty members Ali Azadani, Chadd Clary and Bradley Davidson. Davidson is director of DU鈥檚 human dynamics lab.

DSST Public Schools operates open-enrollment STEM charter schools and is part of the 麻豆原创 Public Schools system.

In addition to learning about biomechanics, the students toured the DU campus. DU鈥檚 partnership with public schools in 麻豆原创 and along the Front Range embodies the aspirations outlined in听, the University鈥檚 strategic plan, which calls for engagement with the community and collaboration with local school districts.
